Netflix, 2005-2008

I worked with Netflix from 2005 - 2008, leading the visual and interaction design for several areas, including the newly introduced video streaming feature, film ratings & recommendations, DVD purchase store, film and site search, and DVD movie queue. I also took part in extensive quantitative and qualitative testing, using methodical A/B testing and metrics analyisis to prove and refine our design and feature implementations.

Along with the in-house design team, I contributed to the design, look & feel, typography, and architecture of the members home page. I led the design of the page header, right-side Browse navigation, and graphical buttons.

I worked with the Movie Recommendations Project Manager to redesign the existing recommendations page, streamlining the content presentation and introducing a new look & feel. I led the creation of the graphical treatment, section navigation, interaction design, page hierarchy, and subsequent page presentation.

I worked with the Streaming Content Project Manager to create a custom home page for the newly introduced instant watching service, leading the creation of the graphical treatment, section navigation, interaction design, custom images, and marketing language.

With the introduction of the Netflix instant watching service, I also had to design a new movie Queue page, allowing users to see and manage both their DVD and Instant titles, via a tab layout structure. Led the design of page layout, interaction design, and iconography.
